Thing #20 is about Facebook and MySpace, those well known social networks.
I joined Facebook a few months ago because my sister and friends were on there. Its fun to play around with and write on the wall of people that you know, to send them messages, and to throw things at them. I have a bunch of friends added and have added a few other things here and there (like the Addicted to Dr. Who and the Pirates game). I know lots of people that spend tons of time on Facebook.
I just joined the ALA group in Facebook. I had not joined any groups and I needed one for this Thing! So it seemed as good as any, plus I am a ALA member. I think that as long as people are careful, Facebook and MySpace are are great places for people to have fun and reconnect with old friends.
