The 22nd Annual Turtle Derby will soon be upon us! This is an event at my work where people sponsor turtles and race them. The money goes to pediatrics programming at the Children’s Hospital and people watch the races and eat food- including turtle sundaes (don’t worry no turtles are harmed making the ice cream treats). Because I am new to the library I have never seen the races, but for the past 10 months I have been hearing about them and seeing the various buttons around the library (each year they have a different button design). Turtle merchandise went on sale this week (also for charity) and I purchased the t-shirt, a button and a cute little turtle for my desk.
