My Last Helicopter Tuesday

Today was my last helicopter lesson (for a while). I had a few hours remaining from the last package of hours I purchased and today I finally finished those 1.5 hours. I am putting my helicopter private pilots license on hold for a while and going back to my private pilots license in airplanes (airplanes being less expansive than helicopters).

It was a beautiful day to fly! First Instructor Kristie and I flew to St. Paul where we circled the city and we had a great view of downtown, the state capital and my sister’s condo. Next we were off to Minneapolis were we flew and viewed various U of MN campuses and buildings, including the new TCF Stadium, Moos Towers and yes, Diehl Hall. Then we were off to downtown Minneapolis and the Metrodome. Next we circled around the south side of the downtown area and came up the west side to see the new Target Field baseball stadium and home of the Minnesota Twins (sadly no one was playing). After circling a second time, we headed north and I finally got to fly over my house! So we buzzed my house a few times and then we flew up 35W and around the Running Aces Harness Park. Finally we did a few landings at the Forest Lake Airport, which has a grass runway, and headed back home. In all a great day!
