Live long and prosper Spock

Leonard Nimoy, 83, died today. Being a Star Trek Trekkie (photos of a high school Melissa in her Star Trek uniform will never appear on this blog due to her unfortunate 80s haircut), Spock was always my favorite. He helped inspire generations of scientists, dreamers, astronauts, pilots, writers, and millions around the world. Twitter was atwitter with tweets, news programs mentioned his passing, and organizations like The White House, NASA, and the Smithsonian, as well as astronauts, politicians, and others who knew or were inspired by him posted on what he meant to them. As Kirk once said…”Of my friend I can only say this. Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most human.”
