Today was the Holiday potluck and Business meeting of the Minnesota Chapter of the 99s. This was my first 99s event and I had a great time. The 99s (aka The Ninety-Nines, Inc. International Organization of Women Pilots) are an aviation organization just for women and one of the founding members was Amelia Earhart. The women who belong to the Minnesota chapter are incredibly interesting and so much fun. They are also quite the mix, as ages ranged from a college freshmen to a 90 year old. Among the many very cool ladies I met was Liz Strohfus who was a WASP during WWII. She is also a very spunky 90 year old and has lead quite the life (and has flown some incredible airplanes). She even signed her book for me.
