Dark Places, Wicked Companions, and Strange Experiences: Day 0

The Norwegian Explorers of Minnesota, the Friends of the Sherlock Holmes Collections at the University of Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota Libraries will hold a conference to surprise and entertain attendees with the many dark places, wicked companions and strange experience that Mr. Holmes and other characters have encountered. The conference will feature presentations by a stellar group of Sherlockians, vendor tables, a dramatic performance by the Red-Throated League of the Norwegian Explorers, and the Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Sherlock Holmes Collections at the University of Minnesota — the worlds largest collection of Sherlock Holmes-related material.

Thursday, August 8

8:30 am –7 pm
The exhibit “Dark Places, Wicked Companions, and Strange Experiences” will be open at the Elmer Andersen Library.

7 pm–9:30 pm
Opening reception at The Graduate Hotel, second floor near The Meridian Ballroom. Cash bar and light appetizers will be available (registration not open).

I had already seen the exhibit a few weeks ago and I had to work in the library, so I did not go see the exhibit again, but taking to people at the opening reception (I attended for a few minutes on my lunch break) everyone really liked the exhibit. A few people also thought, as I did, that there should have been fog rolling around though.
