My first boss in the library, David Lenander, retired this January from nearly 35 years in the libraries at the UMN. Besides being my boss, he also supervisor other library staff members and over 1,000 students (including one princess) over the past 30 years. My department had a small party for him on January 7th and then the library threw him a larger party on January 22nd and gave him a wonderful Hobbit print from the children’s collection.
