Sherlock Holmes & the Case of the Christmas Carol

Tonight Mom, Janet, Katheryn, and I went to see Sherlock Holmes & the Case of the Christmas Carol at the James J. Hill House. All the shows are sold out, so it was a good thing that I purchased the tickets back in June!

The play Sherlock Holmes & the Case of the Christmas Carol is produced by Theatre X and you can find out more information about them here https://www.theatrex.org/

All the tickets were General Admission, so we arrived early to get a good seat and we were actually right across from Holmes and his chair the full night. The one downside being this close is that the stage lights were glaring at me, but it was so worth having the cast walk right in front of me. I heard that 90 people were in the audience, but that seems a bit height, but everyone was scattered around the room, so maybe. There is a nice gift shop with books and Christmas ornaments which was fun to look at as we were waiting for the doors to open.

It was a fun play. The Christmas Carol is basically haunting Sherlock Holmes and there was even a tiny Tim! They added in lots of little Sherlockian items, people, and quotes here and there, that fans of the Detective would appreciate. This was ‘opening night’ and at times the cast seemed a bit nervous with lines stumbled upon, but otherwise they all did a great job. I even ran into a few members of the The Norwegian Explorers, whom I had just talked to last night, so it was very funny seeing them here tonight. To quote another movie “If you build it they will come, and Sherlockians will always come out.”
