I got in! I got in! I got in!

Tonight, a few minutes before 11pm, I received an email from NASA telling me that I have been chosen to attend the NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center NASA Social event that I had applied for! I am just amazed, excited, stunned, and so very happy. Not only is it NASA, but its NASA, FLYING, and SOCIAL MEDIA! How is that not the perfect trifecta?

Here is the blurb on the event:

The NASA website states: “We’re inviting social media users to apply for credentials to participate in a two-day event highlighting the ways NASA is with you when you fly. The NASA Social is Nov. 18 and 19 at the agency’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. Did you know most aircraft flying today, and every process in air traffic management, contains a NASA-supported technology? This NASA Social event will give guests an opportunity to learn more about the agency’s contributions to aviation, which stretch back nearly a century. Event participants will receive an exclusive look at the latest tools and technologies being developed to improve the efficiency, safety and adaptability of air transportation. Participants will also have a chance to ask questions of aircraft crew, pilots and scientists involved in the flight research process.

NASA Social participants will have the opportunity to:
Tour hangars housing various science, test and unmanned aircraft
Learn about cutting edge aeronautical technology development such as the Automatic Ground-Collision Avoidance System
Be briefed on NASA Armstrong’s latest aeronautics test projects, including the Adaptive Compliant Trailing Edge flexible wing flap project
Meet an aerodynamics expert in the Flow Visualization Lab
Visit the Sub-Scale Aircraft Shop, where scale concepts come to life
Tour the Experimental Fabrication Machine Shop
Speak with pilots and flight engineers
Participate in an interactive flight suit demonstration
