Wednesday finds me in the glorious city of Houston, Texas for a conference and Midterm In-Person for my PhD program. I was up at the crack of dawn to catch my flight, which was nice and uneventful. Then I met up with friends from my program at the airport and we made our way to the hotel. First impression of Houston? Kind of an ugly city and the burbs by the airport remind me Florida or Mississippi. After checking into the hotel and getting some food, it was off to class. Yes, class! I had statistics class tonight from 4-6. So after a long day of travel, it was a long day of class. Later that night it was off for supper – sushi and I also received some fantastic birthday gifts from some great friends (thanks everyone!).
