6:30 Dinner at Biraporetti’s

Today was my presentation! Haha well, it was my presentation with my two co-authors Madeline and J. The day started out pretty early with breakfast and then off to the Western Social Science Association Conference (WSSA), which was being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, to check-in. After attending many great talks by friends from my PhD program, some talks that were interesting, and one that was not interesting (Madeline made me go), it was our turn to talk. We were given a very small room and 30+ people squished in to hear us talk. Interestingly we knew all but 5 of the people in the audience! We were told that other people wanted to come in to hear the talk, but when they found that it was too crowded, they went to the other talks. It was great that so many students and professors from the IDV PhD program want to hear us talk. I was exhausted after it was over and now I can enjoy the rest of the conference without the extra stress of that paper and presentation. Dinner was at the Italian-Irish restaurant Biraporetti’s.
