The Funeral

Yesterday, Monday August 25th, was Grandma Kay Gulczinski’s visitation. We had a good turnout with about 50+ people in attendance and today we had a better turnout with 75+ people at the funeral. Grandma was loved by a lot of people. People also sent lovely cards, flowers, and chocolate.

One thing that made everyone smile was her purse on the casket. Grandma and her sisters were obsessed with always having their purses with them. Always. When two of Grandma’s sisters died, they had their purses buried with them in the casket. So we also include Grandma’s purse in her casket and as its bad luck to have an empty purse, Great Aunt Florence added in $2.00 (also for a little slot machine gambling in heaven I think, as Grandma loved the nickle slots). Great idea Florence! So I added in $1.00 from me and $1.00 for my sister Michelle and my Aunt Jane added in 4 quarters into Grandma’s purse. A family friend also suggested that we add in a deck of cards, so we did. Now Grandma has cards and money to play cards/slots in heaven with her relatives.
