I received this very cool email today:
“Hello Melissa:
This email message is official acceptance of your proposal for the April 2012 WSSA Conference in Houston…We are very much looking forward to seeing you at the conference and hearing your presentation…”
The WSSA is the Western Social Science Association and I am a co-author on a paper on women and suicide – which is actually a very interesting topic and our topic on the subject is pretty original. Writing an abstract is always the easy part, but now we actually need to write the thing. We also submitted an abstract submission to the APSA (American Political Science Association), but no word if they liked it or not.
