Coming soon the bionic toe!

Two years after having toe surgery the pain continues and so today’s round of x-rays showed that my big toe joint is deteriorating. Apparently its genetic (great, thanks relatives) and was going to happen. So sometime between now and 5 years from now or basically when the pain in unbearable – which in reality will probably be about 2 years from now, I get to go bionic and have a titanium toe joint put in. Really, the toe fun never stops. My first thought was “hmm I wonder if I will beep going thought TSA at the airport.” The goal is to holdout as long as possible and live with the pain, because the new titanium toe joint will only last 10-15 years, which means a replacement sometime during my retirement years. Really, the toe fun can stop now.

The two images below are from October 2012 (on the left) right after surgery when it was looking textbook perfect (nice and round between the two joints) and the one on the right is from today July 2014 and you can see how the round joint is now all jagged and has a weird peak.
