WASP Elizabeth Betty “Liz” Wall Strohfus

Liz Strohfus, aka WASP Elizabeth “Betty Liz Wall,” Strohfus passed away Sunday March 6, 2016 in Faribault, MN at the age of 96.

I first met Liz on December 12th, 2009 at the MN 99s holiday Party. She was there with her sister and son and she was so fully of life and energy. Over the next few years I was very fortunate to meet Liz at various Minnesota 99s events. She was the winner of two Congressional Gold Medals (the WASPs and Civil Air Patrol) and the one that she received for the WASPs she passed around at an event and I was able to hold it. She was always the life of the party, telling her wonderful flying stories, promoting the WASPs and women pilots. She was an inspiration to everyone and will be missed by all that met her.
