Today starts the celebration of ‘The 70 Days of Mom’ with tulips and chocolate! Mom’s big 70th birthday is coming up, so everyday until her birthday in 70 days, she will receive a gift.
I originally did this ten years ago with the ’60 Days of Carole’ and Mom loved it. Who would not love 60 days of getting a gift every day? I also did ’90 days of Kay’ for Grandma Kay and ’40 Days of Michelle’ for my twin sister Michelle, but both Grandma and Michelle did not like it and complained about it the whole time (I blogged about each gift that Grandma and Michelle received, so you just need to do a search for 60 Days or 40 Days). I was planning on doing the ’70 Days of Terry,’ but Dad died when he was 69 so that killed that idea. I told him what I was planned on doing a ’70 days’ a few years before he died and he did joke I was should do ’69 Days of Terry’ when he turned 69 because he would probably die before he hit 70 and I told him no, we don’t celebrate the small numbers and that he needed to live to be at least 70 if he wanted the gifts. So there he goes and spoils my plans and the party Mom was going to throw for him. Typical.
