Today is the first day of Summer School at USM and my PhD program. There was a nice selection of classes to choose from, but I decided to pick “fun” classes for the summer! After a year of taking the required core classes (which were sometimes very dull and occasionally tedious) I wanted to take something fun. Something exciting. Something new. And as each class has around 8 required books, numerous suggested readings, and too many articles to count, I wanted classes that would hold my interested and where I would learn a few things.
So this summer I am taking:
IDV 880 The Political Economy Of The Global Oil Market
IDV 860 The Evolution of Political Islam in the Greater Middle East and the West
