I saw Bly a few times over the years at book signings and poetry recitals, including once at the long gone Ruminator Books bookstore. I remember one remarkable event where he had a musician playing while he recited his poems. For some reason I always associated him with the late great Minnesota poet Bill Holm. I guess because both were a bit curmudgeonly and loved language and books. I am sure the two of them are having a good laugh wherever it is old poets go.
