Reno!

I left today for the Women in Aviation conference, which is being held in Reno at the Grand Sierra Resort. Sadly the Grand Sierra Resort was totally booked for the weekend, so Mom (yes, Mom needed a vacation so she decided to come to Reno with me. She will gamble, while I attend the conference) and I are booked at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino.

The flights to Dallas and then to Reno were fine, just a bit long and bumpy due to the bad weather. Mom got to sit next to a WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots who flew during WWII) on one of the flights. She was in her uniform, about 90+ years old, and snotty to Mom! Maybe she was just cranky about sitting back in coach or how the flight was running about 30 minutes late due to the weather, but the airlines and some military women treated her like a celebrity (which actually is way cool and very nice).

The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino is great. Its huge and has a wonderful buffet. I won $15 on craps, but nothing on roulette or the slot machines. Mom came out ahead on both craps and roulette, but did not do to well on the slot machines.
