Partial Solar Eclipse

Eclipses are the coolest thing, but unfortunately tonight’s eclipse in Minnesota was only a partial solar eclipse. Finding it at work, at the U, was a bit of a challenge due to the tall buildings and trees, and also becuase the eclipse was so late in the evening the sun was setting and was really low on the horizon. The eclipse peaked around 8:15pm and after I tired a few different spots around the library, went to the top of the parking ramp, and walked around campus, it was well after 8:30pm when I finally found a good view – which way across campus and above the Mississippi River. Only one of my photos shows a little left edge of the eclipse, but seeing it in person was truly awesome (yes, I looked. How could you not?).
