October 2023 Reads

October was a very busy month and I ended up only finishing 2 books. Two books! But I was working on a few others, so two is just fine. The books and the links to buy them are listed below.

Remember life is way too short to read a book that you don’t like, so read what interests you. Happy reading!

Sherlock Holmes: The Disappearance of Henry Fyldene: A Sherlock Holmes Resurgent Mystery Book 10 by J. B. Varney – Young Henry Fyldene goes missing and Holmes and Watson are soon on the case!

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien – You know the story and have seen the movies. I had never read LOTR before (I read The Hobbit years ago and did not like it) and I was a bit disappointed, but I knew that the story lacked any real female characters and the hobbits were a bit whiny so that distracted me a bit. Maybe I should have read the book years ago. There is a lot more to the story that made it into any of the movies, so certainly worth a read.
