Norwegian Explorers of Minnesota Annual Meeting and Dinner 2023

I had a wonderful time tonight at The Norwegian Explorers of Minnesota 2023 Annual Meeting and Dinner. Its always such a fun event and there were over 60 people in attendance!

Tonight’s keynote speaker was Dr. Daniel Friedman and he spoke on the topic of “The Enduring Legacy of Joe Bell in Medicine, Mystery, and Literature” Dan is co-author of “The Strange Case of Dr. Doyle” and “Doyle’s World: Lost and Found.”

Tonight was also very fun due to the fact that I read out Bill Schweikert’s poem “A Long Evening with Holmes” at the end of the night. A first for me – reading a poem live and in front of people. I was also elected to the board of the Norwegian Explorers, so that’s was awesome.

This year for the Christmas Annual I created puzzle with the “75” theme (its the 75th anniversary of the Norwegian Explorers):

Aho, Melissa. 2023. “The Diamond Jubilee Puzzle” in The Norwegian Explorers 20232 Christmas Annual, No. 22: 75! by Ray Riethmeier and Phillip Bergem, Editors. Minneapolis, MN: The Norwegian Explorers of Minnesota, pages 23-24 and 73.

My 2023 Sigerson Award was: The “Throes of Some Vexation Problem”!
