This afternoon I tired to go into the library staff area, but only got so far before I was told that I was not allowed. “Hmmm. OK.” I responded and walked back to my office. A few minutes later Pat (whom I share an office with) came and told me “we don’t care if you don’t want to celebrate your birthday or if you don’t want a cake. We are celebrating and we want cake.” Well, there is no arguing with library folk when they want cake, so I went back into the staff area and they had a lovely chocolate cake and birthday card waiting for me.
