My Grandma loves to play cards and when I was growing up she taught the evil twin and I and my cousins to play. Her favorite was Shanghai Rummy (now its Kings in the Corners). This past weekend I came across my Grandma’s Shanghai Rummy rules. I am not sure why she wrote them down, perhaps to keep them straight or to help someone remember or the most likely scenario: as proof of the rules for when someone cheats. I am not saying that my relatives cheat at cards, but there have been some suspicious incidents in the past. I will say no more.
So here are Grandma’s Shanghai Rummy. I am not sure if they are the ‘official’ rules for the game, but it’s how we play.
