Lately all I do is go to physical therapy appointments (2 times a week) and chiropractor appointments, but today to mix things up I had a foot doctor appointment (yes, I am just loving all those copay’s). I am 5 weeks and 3 days, as my podiatrist informed me today, since my toe surgery and I am told things are looking good. There is still lots of pain, swelling, and a squishing feeling (the clicking noise of the sesamoids has stopped) when I walk, but apparently that’s all normal and it will go away/diminish in the weeks to come and as I do physical therapy.
The best news of the appointment was that I can stop wearing the post-op surgical boot that I have been wearing for 5 weeks and 3 days and which is a major pain (pun intended) and partial cause of my back pain (due to walking unevenly as the left foot does not wear the ever stylish post-op surgical boot) once I can get my foot into “real” shoes. I tried “real” socks this past Monday and could not wear them due to the pain and a “real” shoe last Sunday and could not get my foot in. So like Cinderella, I will keep trying “real” shoes until I find one that fits. I also have no restrictions on anything else as long as I can stand the pain. So lookout stairs! (I currently have a love hate relationship with stairs.)
