Back from South Africa

On Thursday August 30, 2007 Nevanka Goonewardena and I returned from presenting our paper “Writing a New Chapter – Glocalization: Creating Libraries across the Globe – A Case Study in Sri Lanka” at the World Library and Information Congress: 73rd IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) General Conference and Council in Durban, South Africa from August 19 – 23, 2007.

We both had an incredible time and met librarians from around the world, including Poland, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, and Italy. We also went on a safari into the Kruger Park (and viewed lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, crocs, hippos, impala, jackals, etc.) and visited the Township of Soweto.

I took over 800+ 1000+ photos!!
