My first zoom lecture today was A Conversation with Bill Gates and Don Cheadle, hosted by LAWACTH and Writers Bloc Confirmation and it was to discuss Bill Gate’s new book “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster.”
An interesting talk about a serious subject, I can’t wait to read the book. Here is the official blurb:
“In this urgent, authoritative book, How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, Bill Gates sets out a wide-ranging, practical—and accessible—plan for how the world can get to zero greenhouse gas emissions in time to avoid a climate catastrophe.
Bill Gates has spent a decade investigating the causes and effects of climate change. With the help of experts in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, political science, and finance, he has focused on what must be done in order to stop the planet’s slide toward certain environmental disaster. In this book, he not only explains why we need to work toward net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases, but also details what we need to do to achieve this profoundly important goal.
Gates will be in conversation with climate change activist, philanthropist, and award-winning actor Don Cheadle. Cheadle is a bestselling co-author about genocide in Darfur, Not On Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond. He is also the recipient, with George Clooney, of the annual Peace Summit Award, given during the annual summit of Nobel Peace Laureates” (https://www.lawac.org/EventDetail/eventid/30818).
