2nd Anniversary of COVID-19

Today is the official 2nd Anniversary of COVID-19. According to the World Heath Organization, as of 7:50pm CET on March 11, 2022 worldwide there have been over 6,027,059 million deaths and 452,052,304 million cases, but also over 10,704,043,684 vaccinations administered. According to the CDC, in the United States we have had 79,291,207 million cases and 963,287 deaths.

The question remains, what have we learned? I remember back in January 2020 seeing a news headline about a mysterious illness in China and I was going to mention it to others in the library in case we got any questions about it and then got distracted and never sent it. Before the lockdown in March of 2020 I remember talking to someone in my library and saying that I think its going to last at least 2 years and got the response ‘Oh no Melissa it won’t last that long’. Sigh.
