Wet and wild U2 concert tonight!
Cece, Keely, and I arrived a little after 7pm and the lads from Ireland on their 360 Tour did not start until 9pm! Originally we were suppose to go last year in 2010 (having purchased the tickets in 2009), but the concert was delayed until today – Saturday July 23. It was an interesting audience in attendance- mostly older and sober – as the TCF Stadium is a dry stadium (aka booze free). I joked that the median age was about 35-40!
U2 did a fantastic job! They sang for almost 2 hours through the rain! Yes, did I mention that for most of the show it was pouring rain. Luckily we brought rain ponchos! But the rain was nice and there was no wind, so the rain just added to the fun. They played all the fan favorite songs (Beautiful Day, I Still Haven’t Found, Mysterious Ways, Sunday Bloody Sunday) and only at the encore did they play my favorite song ‘With or Without You’. It was also very fun to see them sing ‘Signing in the Rain’ and ‘Purple Rain’! A great concert!
