The Literary Agents’ Second Annual Meeting was held on Sunday January 16 at 9am! Soo early, but a lot of fun.
If you are not aware the “The Literary Agents is a scion society of the Baker Street Irregulars (BSI) dedicated to studying Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s works — not exclusively (but also not excluding) those he may have promoted for, or under the name of, Dr John H. Watson…” (https://www.doingsofdoyle.com/p/the-literary-agents.html) and this meeting was hosted by the very cool Dr. Ashley Polasek and Mark Jones.
Here is the blurb for this meeting:
“Discussing ‘Conan Doyle’s India’ with Jayantika Ganguly BSI (General Secretary and Editor for the Sherlock Holmes Society of India), Sumal Surendranath (Founder of the Sherlock Holmes Society of India) and Paul M. Chapman (Writer and Co-host of Doings of Doyle). We’ll look at the villainous activities behind ‘The Crooked Man’ and ‘The Brown Hand,’ and the ideas that link ‘Uncle Jeremy’s Household,’ The Mystery of Cloomber and The Sign of Four.
And we’ll be joined by Xander Sobecki, who will share a “firsthand account” from a medieval archer within an immersive re-enactment of the 14th-century military unit that inspired The White Company. He’ll explore the long-forgotten nuances of how knights and archers lived and fought, peeling back the myths to reveal the amazing truths of the era, contrasting the true history of the English soldiers and longbow men-turned-nomadic-mercenaries against Conan Doyle’s heroic saga, and all while wearing thirty pounds of armor!” (https://www.doingsofdoyle.com/p/the-literary-agents.html)
