I once had a student worker that sneezed and threw out her back. She was crying on the floor behind the circulation desk when I found her. It was one of the saddest and craziest things I have ever seen. How could someone be in that much pain due to a sneeze? Sadly, due to the car accident/incident back in Paris in 2013 now I know. No idea how I threw out my back this time, as its been well over a year since its been this bad and this painful, but my guess is that its one of those perfect storm situations: chiropractor appointment on Monday, lots of stress last week and the beginning of the week, more than normal walking on Wednesday and Thursday, flying on Thursday, lifted a chubby cat or two, extreme swollen foot and walking slightly weird the past few weeks, coughing, etc. It all added up and left me in extreme pain on Friday. Luckily I was able to get into the chiropractor this morning and am going back in a few days, so until the pain and swelling diminish I am canceling as many things as possible, as walking, driving, sitting, and just living is difficult. Sadly with a back injury you just never know what will set off your back and disrupt your life.
