September 2022 Reads

Lots of fun reading and some sadness with the loss of Candy in September 2022, but I did managed to read 6 books. Here is an old photo of Candy with a Paraguayan copy of Harry Potter and yes, that is a doily on her head. She was always a good sport about photos. The books and the links to buy them are listed below.

Remember life is way too short to read a book that you don’t like, so read what interests you. Happy reading!

Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn – lady spies trying to retire, but someone is trying to kill them instead. Just a fun read and you just know this is going to be made into a movie.

Marvel Meow by Nao Fuji – Chewie (aka Goose in the movies) spends time with Avengers and X-Men.

Queenhood: A Poem for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 by Simon Armitage – reread UK Poet Laureate Armitage book that was published for the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II after her death.

Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escapade by Nancy Springer – Enola must save her friend Lady Cecily and stay ahead of Sherlock.

Ms. Marvel: Stretched Thin by Nadia Shammas, illustrator, Nabi H. Ali, layouts by Geoffo, and letters by VC’s Joe Caramagna – Kamala Khan is doing too much – a teenager and superhero, cameos by some favorite Avengers.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling – Its been a few years, so I decided to reread the Potter books. Looking back one sees so many little clues that are miss after watching the movies.
