A conference paper Doctor Madeline (which is how she demands to be called now that she has her PhD) and I had submitted to the ISA (The International Studies Association) was rejected today. Always a mixed bag is the conference paper rejection. On one hand you are sad about the rejection, but on the other hand you are excited not to have to write the paper, as you never write a conference paper before it accepted. ISA is one of the big political science conferences (its the fun, non stuffy one with all the good book deals in the dealers room) and I have presented there a few times in the past and will hopefully in the future. Plus Baltimore in February…brr.
