Uncle Randy, family friend and honorary uncle, passed away tonight – Monday March 6. For years Randy would call everyday and talk to Dad and after Dad died he would call Mom everyday to talk, check-in, see what was going on, and argue with her about something. He liked to argue, but he was also very generous. He had a scholarship created at his alma mater and I remember him being Santa and talking to Louisa and Julian on the phone during the holidays (telling them to be good). I also remember one holiday when the Twin and I were 3 or 4 years old he gave us bunkbeds for our dolls and for high school graduation he gave us some beautiful cubic zirconia earrings. The past few years he would send chocolate on the holidays – malted milk balls (aka ‘mothballs’ as Mom and I called them), but the occasional box of assortments or truffles. Uncle Randy will be missed.
