New Year’s Eve…bye bye 2011

New Year’s Eve 2011 went out with a bang. Inches of thick wet snow, a good party a friends house, oh and some ant eating! My dad received the ants in his Santa sock and we opened them today. The Giant Toasted Ants from Colombia are harvested by the Guane Indians and according to the package “taste similar to crispy bacon with an added earthy spicy kick.” Well, I am willing to try anything once, so I gave the ants a try. They were crunchy and tasted really, really bad! They might have been better with chocolate, but I kind of doubt it. Happy New Years!
