New Mexico and the Wedding

Off to New Mexico today for Madeline and Brian’s wedding!

After the flight from Minneapolis to Dallas to El Paso, I drove (in a cute little white Beetle Volkswagen 2013 – it was a free upgrade from my economy car) over an hour to get to Madeline’s house to meet her kitty’s (Boo and Yarp- who refused to come out from under a bed and her sisters cat Juliet) and then we caravaned though the mountains, went past White Sands National Monument, had to stop for US Border Patrol Interior Checkpoint who asked me if I was a US citizen (Really? Did he not hear my Minnesota accent?), and then drove up to Sacramento Camp and Conference Center which is in the Lincoln National Forest. Some of Madeline and Brian’s friends and family were already here by the time we arrived and I found my name on my room door and a wonderful welcome gift bag full of goodies waiting for me, which included a honey bear, a scorpion sucker, and sunscreen (I also got a wonderful challenge coin from Brian! Thanks Brian!). Best wedding goodies ever! Dinner, Scrabble (I won one round with some unique spellings), and helping set up for tomorrow was on tonight’s agenda.
