It’s been a month today since my Mom fell and was injured. She spent almost a week in the ICU and then in Neurology at the hospital and then almost three weeks in a rehabilitation facility. She is doing a lot better and is now home. This is certainly not how I imagined I would be spending the month of May, but life happens when you are making plans.
The nurses and doctors at the hospital and rehabilitation facility were amazing, especially the ICU nurses. Really the only time I was not happy with her care, was when the rehabilitation facility went on lockdown due to an employee bringing covid into the rehabilitation facility. I was forced to get tested so that I could go and see her. Yes, I was already vaccinated, but it did not matter. I hope that terrible person who brought covid into a healthcare facility filled with the sick and elderly was fired. It’s been a really long stressful horrible month that was made worse by someone not getting vaccinated. Get vaccinated people!
