Every once in a while I get an email from Google Scholar altering me to “Scholar Alert: New citations to my articles”. It does not happen often, as I have way too many fluffy publications that tend not to be cited in academic journals, so when it does happen and its actually me (for some reason Google Scholar thinks I am also a Finnish scientist that studies radar, sonar, and navigation) I get pretty excited about it. Its really the little things in life.
