J.K. Rowling announced today (Tuesday May 26, 2020) that she was publishing a new book for children The Ickabog! Sadly it’s not a Harry Potter book, but a new book is still awesome.
She writes “The Ickabog is a story about truth and the abuse of power. To forestall one obvious question: the idea came to me well over a decade ago, so it isn’t intended to be read as a response to anything that’s happening in the world right now. The themes are timeless and could apply to any era or any country. (https://www.jkrowling.com/j-k-rowling-introduces-the-ickabog/).

She is releasing chapters online for free and will officially publish it in November 2020. She is currently hosting a drawing competition for kids aged 7-12. Oh yes, she is also “pledging all author royalties from The Ickabog, when published, to help groups who’ve been particularly impacted by the pandemic” (https://www.jkrowling.com/j-k-rowling-introduces-the-ickabog/).
