Great Aunt Cecilia’s funeral was today. It was a nice funeral and burial on a beautiful day. Sadly I think that the pandemic kept a lot of people at home, but it was a good size turnout. My Mom was under orders not to hug any of the relatives. There were a few shoulder pats, but otherwise she did well. Aunt Cecilia had a full life and will be missed.

Gulczinski, Cecilia
Cecilia (née Hagel) Gulczinski of Crystal, MN passed away at age 102 from natural causes on September 14th. She is preceded in death by: husband Frank, children Clare Ann and Gordon, and grandson Luke. She is Survived by her children Stanley, Earl, Susan (Patrick), Fredrick (Teri), Carmel, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She graduated from the U of M Farm School and met Frank at The Calhoun Beach Club. During WWII she worked in factories to support our country and married Frank, now in the navy, in Boston while his ship was being repaired from the war. She was a much beloved mother for her 7 children. She gardened, canned, baked to perfection and was an excellent homemaker. She assisted Frank with building two houses, loved flowers and angels, appreciated God’s presence in nature, and was a chartered member of St. Raphael’s parish. Anyone who met her would say she was a one of a kind story teller. She will be sorely missed by all and her energy, work ethic, and loyalty to her family can live on through surviving family members. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 21 at the Church of St. Raphael 10:00 AM. Brief visitation will be held at church half hour prior.
