I finally got to fly today! Its been a while due to my back and foot injuries, the weather, and maintenance on the airplane and today was a perfect day. The weather was in the low 70s, bright and sunny, not a cloud in the sky, no wind, and very little traffic at the airport (a few cute planes and a helicopter showing off). It was perhaps too perfect and when the weather is too perfect the aviation gods can be cruel. So Cheryl and I were at the run-up area next to Runway 36 and I was working my way down the checklist and the engine decided to act up. So I had to call the Tower and ask to taxi back to the hanger. Back at the hanger the mechanic was called and after taking off the hood, he found that there was just a little dirt on the spark plug and after a few minutes we were good to go. So we tried again and off we went this time. I did some slow flying, some S-turns, flew around a bit (we flew by Running Aces Racetrack and by my house) and then came in for a landing. Lets just say this was not my best landing. Overall it was a great day to fly, despite a little mechanical issue.
