Today was the EQS (Enhancing Quality Staff) Symposium, the 28th symposium after a few years of hiatus due to the pandemic, for the University of Minnesota’s library staff and for other library staff around the state. It’s a fun all-day event with all sorts of talks and activities. This year I was on the EQS planning committee and I soon found out that this is a committee with way too many meetings. Really the number of meetings is insane. I was also a liaison for a few of the speakers for the symposium, including a wonderful talk about Dr. Heidi Roop on “From Climate Impacts to Climate Action: Navigating Your Climate Solutions Journey” (and got her newest book “The Climate Action Handbook” signed), which was fun. I also booked us on a tour of Northrop Memorial Auditorium. We walked over to Northrop in the rain, but luckily we had organized umbrellas for everyone.
