Today was my first post-surgery doctors appointment for my foot and it went fine. The doctor took the bandage off, look at it, evilly moved the toe around which hurt a lot, and then put a new clean bandage on. He said that its healing nicely. Also if I am good and make sure that I stay off the foot (aka rest it), keep it elevated, and make sure its iced a lot to bring down swelling (ice is your friend) I can have the stitches removed next week.
I also learned that the sesamoids were really stuck on the bottom of my foot and when they were cut away it sounded like celery being crunched. Apparently it was really loud. I will have to do physical therapy a bit earlier than expected to work on the sesamoids to keep them free. Free the sesamoids! He said he also tried to avoid adding to the scaring, as there was a lot there from last time.
