Discover Aviation Days was this weekend at the Anoka County Airport (KANE) and the MN 99s had a booth. I worked the booth on Saturday and it was hot, crowded, and fun. I met lots of pilots and non-pilots, including WWII pilot Wayne G. Johnson and got a autographed copy of his book “Whitey – From Farm Kid to Flying Tiger to Attorney” and also Doug Ward who was a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress for 32 missions during WWII.
