Our traditional Christmas gathering with Sloane, Derek, Louisa, and Julian took place on tonight’s snowy night. Books and food were the theme this year and really, is there anything better?
This year I gave the kids their own Lamy fountian pen and ink! It’s never too early to have them writing with a fountain pen. My annual autographed book for the kids was more individualized this year: for Louisa “The 99% Invisible City: A Field Guide to the Hidden World of Everyday Design” by Roman Mars and Kurt Kohlstedt and sadly Julian’s book is still clearing customs as it’s coming from the UK and its “Born to be a Footballer: My Autobiography” by Liam Brady. And because I found a few other awesome autographed books this year Sloane got Hannah Hart’s “My Drunk Kitchen Holidays!” and Derek got “Goth: A History” by Lol Tolhurst.
