Melissa introduces listeners to fun and entertaining ‘new’ and ‘new to you’ books. Interviews with librarians and other book people, as well as reviews of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and maybe even an audio book or two will be covered, as good books can be found anywhere.

Melissa Aho has been a librarian since the last century, well since the late 1990s, and has worked in a variety of libraries and one bookstore (more experienced listeners might remember Waldenbooks, where Melissa’s bookselling superpower was being able to identify books by their covers and yes, she did judge). She has written over 100 book reviews for print and online sources and has co-edited a book for librarians called “The Machiavellian Librarian: Winning allies, combating budget cuts, and influencing stakeholders.” Sadly it was not a best seller. An omnivorous reader she tries to read 100 books a year and sometimes makes it. She expects one day to be crushed by her ever growing stacks of books or eaten by her cats, but until that day arrives her goals remains to read as many good books as possible and to one day be the first librarian on Mars.
