Lots of fun reading in August 2022, but sadly I only managed to read 5 books. The books and the links to buy them are listed below.
Remember life is way too short to read a book that you don’t like, so read what interests you. Happy reading!
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy – a wonderful book that I read a second time before I had to return it to the library.
Rafferty’s Last Case: A Minnesota Mystery featuring Sherlock Holmes by Larry Millett – the final mystery of Shadwell Rafferty and Sherlock Holmes in 1920s Minnesota.
Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail by Ray Dalio – Dalio’s take on why nations succeed or fail over the past 500 years. Its a bit wordy, but makes some really good points. My political science book club read this book and everyone liked it.
Panacea Exodus: Panacea Trilogy Book 2 by L. Ana Ellis – The second book in the series by L. Ana Ellis which comes out in December! No spoilers on my part, so buy the book.
New Rome: The Empire in the East by Paul Stephenson – Looking at the Eastern Roman Empire from a variety of perspectives (cities, environmental and pollution, population, pandemics, etc.). My history book club read this one and everyone enjoyed it.
