I finished reading The City of Heavenly Tranquillity the other day and I just cant seem to stop thinking about it (which might also be due to the fact that I am writing a review of it). Anyways, the book is about the history of Beijing aka Peking and its destruction due to the Cultural Revolution and its just plain sad. Its like reading about the death of someone. China has such long and wondrous history, that to read what has happened and is happening it just painful. Anyways good book. Read it when it comes out in July aka just in time for the Olympics!!! ( you gotta love the marketing people and their timing). Or read my review when it comes out.
