So Musk went again and changed Twitter to X. Sigh. For such a brilliant person he can be kind of an idiot and stuck in the past. Really the ‘x’ is not funny in 2023 if it ever was. Also nothing like destroying a brand. First, he buys Twitter on a dare, takes it private (forcing shareholders to sell their shares in Twitter), gets rid of the blue checks to verify people who they say they are, charges people to get a blue verification check, and now changes the name and the famous little blue bird. Yes, he has been using the “x” in stuff since the days of pre-PayPal, but no one cares. People liked Twitter the way it was. I joined Twitter in September 2008. I did not join X. Oh and yes Musk only joined Twitter in June 2009.
