Outside the reproduction of the 221B Baker Street Sitting Room, which is part of the Sherlock Holmes Collections at the University of Minnesota Libraries, they have added the cityscape of London. Yes, London “that great cesspool into which all the loungers and idlers of the Empire are irresistibly drained.” It’s been up for a while, but this was the first chance I had to visit the cityscape. For some reason, I expected the cityscape to be in the sepia colors of an old photograph, but it was in color – which you can see on the blue skies behind Big Ben.
